Enterprise Data Strategy Lead

Design and implement effective AI solution architecture or strategy utilizing approaches of various AI technologies and methods to address clients' business problems and needs, while complying with the organization’s strategies, business goals, and key ethical considerations. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision, and mentor or supervise employees in both company and technical competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and mature data governance programs, policies, standards, and quality frameworks across complex organizations
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (technical, business, legal, cybersecurity, change management) to drive enterprise-wide governance outcomes
  • Develop multi-year data management roadmaps, KPIs, and governance operating models
  • Define and accelerate data stewardship models, including domain-level roles, responsibilities, and accountability structures
  • Tailor industry data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK) for practical enterprise adoption
  • Operate at the enterprise level, influence senior stakeholders with minimal direction, and create executive-ready materials (presentation decks, decision briefs, strategic roadmaps, governance scorecards)
  • Evaluate and prioritize high-value data domains, datasets, and use cases to support business strategy and AI transformation
  • Synthesize complex data governance concepts, risks, and dependencies into clear, concise narratives and recommendation pathways for executive audiences (CIO, legal, cyber, compliance)

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise data strategy, data governance, data management, or data quality
  • 5+ years of experience assisting with developing, implementing, and maturing data governance programs, policies, standards, and quality frameworks across complex organizations
  • Experience leading and coordinating cross-functional teams to drive enterprise-wide governance outcomes
  • Experience developing multi-year data management roadmaps, KPIs, and governance operating models
  • Experience defining and accelerating data stewardship models, including domain-level roles, responsibilities, and accountability structures
  • Knowledge of industry data governance frameworks such as DAMA DMBOK, and tailoring them for practical enterprise adoption
  • Ability to operate at the enterprise level, influence senior stakeholders with minimal direction, and create executive-ready materials
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize high-value data domains, datasets, and use cases to support business strategy and AI transformation
  • Ability to synthesize complex data governance concepts, risks, and dependencies into clear, concise narratives for executive audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading governance councils, working groups, or cross-functional forums to drive decisions and resolve issues
  • Experience with AI tooling, agentic AI capabilities, and enterprise AI governance and orchestration
  • Experience overseeing multiple concurrent governance initiatives, workstreams, or portfolios
  • Knowledge of enterprise technology environments, including cloud architectures, data platforms, and metadata or catalog solutions
  • Ability to influence organizational culture around data ownership, quality, and responsible data practices
  • Strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and project management skills
  • DAMA-DMBOK Certification

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work model expectations:

  • Remote: Generally virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
