Join the University of Idaho's Enterprise Application Development team supporting University Communications & Marketing (UCM). In this role, you'll design, develop, integrate, and maintain websites, web applications, and digital solutions that enhance the university's online presence using Sitecore CMS and related technologies. We're seeking someone with experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, APIs, and modern hosting platforms such as Vercel. You'll collaborate with UCM stakeholders while working within OIT's Agile team, applying secure development practices and exploring emerging technologies, including AI. Position Overview Enterprise Developers are involved in the development of server, OS, desktop, mobile applications and services. They may research, develop specifications for, design, write, modify, test, debug, troubleshoot, document and maintain source code. They will have direct or related involvement in designing related databases, user interfaces, integrations to other systems and applications, content or multimedia processes. The Enterprise Developer II collaborates with team members to apply professional programming concepts to small to medium-sized projects or portions of larger projects. They are responsible for resolving a variety of programming design and implementation issues, working on programming assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. The position follows standard programming procedures to analyze situations and data. Duties May Include Create and evaluate moderately complex softwareAnalyze software for new, moderately complex systems and algorithmsPerform data analysis, test and debug softwareDevelop, implement and execute plans and testsDesign and apply basic data sources and security practicesEmploy source code control techniquesAssist with implementation, configuration management and creation processesGather and analyze dataOther duties as assigned Required Experience Two years of professional experience as a programmer/developer including:Applying secure software development practicesApplying intermediate skills in designing, developing, modifying and deploying software, including object-oriented programming conceptsFollowing software specificationsPerforming software testing; writing test plans with simple requirementsUsing common programming toolsUtilizing software repositories for code storage and versioningIdentifying and resolving basic application problemsCommunicating technical information to technical personnel at various levels in the organizationWorking in a team environment and as an individual contributor to accomplish shared goals Required Education High School Diploma or equivalent Required Other None Additional Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related fieldDemonstrated ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, appropriateness, and alignment with university policies and valuesFamiliarity with responsible AI use principles, including awareness of privacy, data governance, bias, and ethical considerations relevant to a higher education environment.
