Enterprise - Database Engineer - SQL, Linux, Scripting

Description We are seeking a Database Engineer that will helping the client develop and implement data management and be responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and supervising efforts and designing, developing, and updating a strategic plan to manage data and compliance to the related policies and standards. Key responsibilities will be to: Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, indexes, and queries for performance and scalabilityMonitor and tune database performance using native tools and custom scripts Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and replication strategiesCollaborate with developers to refine complex queries and stored proceduresAutomate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)Document database architecture, processes, and best practices Clearance A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position. Experience Five (5) years' experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Required Skills Strong SQL skills and experience with performance tuning and query optimizationProficiency in Linux/Unix environments and CLI tools like psqlExperience with logical and physical replication, partitioning, and backup strategiesFamiliarity with monitoring tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana)Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and tooling Desired Skills Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, or Azure Database for PostgreSQL)Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)Exposure to other RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) or NoSQL systems is a plus. The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience is $150,000 - $175,000.
