About the role

The Enterprise Data Architect is a technical leader responsible for defining, documenting, and governing the canonical data model and architectural standards that enable the firm’s enterprise data platform to deliver trusted, consistent data across its Practice, Growth, and Functional segments.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain enterprise data modeling artifacts including ERDs, attribute-level source-of-truth mappings, grain definitions, and relationship documentation to enable consistent implementation across teams
  • Own and evolve the firm’s canonical (enterprise) data model by defining conformed entities (e.g., Account, Worker, Project/Engagement, Client) and ensuring consistent interpretation across Practice, Growth, and Functional domains
  • Architect and govern the Silver layer canonical model within a Databricks lakehouse / Microsoft Fabric environment, conforming data from Workday, Dynamics 365, and other sources into matched/merged/mastered enterprise entities
  • Design and maintain Gold layer dimensional models (facts, dimensions, measures, hierarchies, and grain) across core subject areas such as revenue, workforce, pipeline, billing, and financial performance to support analytics and self-service consumption
  • Perform architectural design reviews and approvals for new or modified data models introduced by any team, validating adherence to enterprise standards, cross-domain compatibility, and downstream usability (semantic models, Power BI, APIs)
  • Translate business requirements into implementable architecture specifications by partnering with CDAO and Product Managers to convert needs into model blueprints, gold-layer design requirements, and development-ready documentation for engineering teams
  • Maintain architecture decision records (ADRs) and reference patterns to document architectural choices, provide rationale, and accelerate consistent, repeatable delivery of governed data products
  • Partner with Data Governance and Security stakeholders to align canonical definitions, data quality rules, lineage capture, data classification, access control architecture, and masking patterns—ensuring data is audit-ready and trusted
  • Define platform integration and data contract expectations by specifying ingestion and interoperability patterns for upstream systems (Workday, Dynamics 365/Dataverse) and downstream consumers (Fabric semantic models, Power BI, operational interfaces), including SLAs for data freshness, quality, and availability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data modeling roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or lead architect capacity
  • Hands-on background in Kimball-style dimensional modeling, medallion architecture patterns, and semantic layer design at enterprise scale
  • Proven experience in professional services, financial services, or similarly complex industries where production, utilization, WIP, and engagement-based financial models are core business concepts
  • Experience establishing architectural governance practices including design reviews, architecture decision records, and standards documentation
