Enterprise - Cloud Software Engineer - Python, Java, AWS
About the role
We are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer who will leverage advances in data science to support challenging analytic problems including information overload, discovery, attribution, tracking, and assessment. Develop an evolving suite of operational prototypes driven by state-of-the-art data science techniques for behavioral, geo-temporal, social, and content analysis against full-scale collection in robust, flexible, and multi-tenant cloud environments. Research to advance the science of machine learning and statistics in mission problems. This position may allow for partial telework.
A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline; an associate's degree in computer science or related discipline and two (2) years programming experience or five (5) years programming experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Within the last ten (10) years, a minimum of seven (7) years combined programming experience with all of the following languages: Java, C++, or Python.
- Within the last seven (7) years, a minimum of five (5) years experience designing and developing applications in a Windows or UNIX/Linux operating environment.
- Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using database technologies such as Apache Accumulo, MongoDB, ScyllaDB, Google Cloud Bigtable, Amazon DynamoDB, Azure Cosmos DB, Postgres, or equivalent technologies.
- Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed batch- or stream-processing solutions such as Ray, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, Databricks, cloud-native data-processing services, or equivalent technologies.
- Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using distributed file or object storage systems such as HDFS, Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, Google Cloud Storage, or equivalent technologies.
- Within the last three (3) years, a minimum of one (1) year experience with requirements analysis and design for one (1) or more object-oriented systems.
- Within the past two (2) years, six (6) months development experience with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Computing Services.
Skills
- Minimum 1 year hands-on MLOps experience, including fine-tuning and operationalizing small ML models.
- Python and Python libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Pytorch, Keras, spaCy, GLiNER).
- Java.
- JavaScript, Angular, React.
- Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.
- Bash.

- Ability to write code with dynamic prompts using OpenAI Chat Completions API (desired).

Pay
The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience, is $215,000 - $250,000.
