Enterprise Cloud Architect
About the role
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) seeks an Enterprise Cloud Architect to join our team. This role is part of the Information Technology Specialist III classification.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise cloud solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to IT staff
- Conduct regular assessments of cloud infrastructure performance and security
- Develop and maintain documentation of cloud architecture and operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud computing architecture and design
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance regulations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications as outlined in the Information Technology Specialist III classification specifications. Possession of these qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
Skills
- Proficiency in cloud computing technologies
- Experience with cloud governance and compliance
- Strong understanding of ITIL and/or TOGAF frameworks
- Ability to lead and mentor IT staff
- Excellent project management skills

Pay
The starting salary for this position is $9,507.00 per month, with a potential 3% salary reduction due to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025.
