Enterprise Architect – Insurance Smart Apps
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Smart Apps Architect Leader to define and lead the architecture strategy for Assure™ Smart Apps across the ServiceNow ecosystem and the broader DXC Assure Platform.
This is a highly visible architecture leadership role responsible for designing scalable, secure, and reusable solutions across a modern insurance technology landscape. You will partner with product leaders, engineering teams, delivery organizations, and executive stakeholders to shape platform strategy and deliver innovative solutions that support the future of insurance operations.
What You'll Do
Architecture Leadership
- Own the end-to-end architecture strategy for Assure Smart Apps and related insurance platform capabilities.
- Define target-state architectures across user experience, workflow automation, orchestration, integrations, and core insurance systems.
- Establish architectural standards that enable scalability, security, resilience, observability, and long-term maintainability.
- Drive modernization initiatives while ensuring platform stability, upgradeability, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architecture and engineering leadership to align technology investments with business objectives.
Platform & Solution Design
- Develop reusable architecture patterns, reference architectures, and integration frameworks.
- Champion API-first, event-driven, and configuration-over-customization approaches.
- Define clear architectural boundaries across ServiceNow, Assure Platform services, orchestration layers, and enterprise applications.
- Enable modular, loosely coupled solutions that reduce complexity and eliminate duplication of business logic.
- Ensure solutions support enterprise-scale deployment across multiple insurance clients and environments.
Technical Leadership & Governance
- Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical architectures.
- Guide engineering teams on workflows, APIs, integrations, data models, security, and user experience design.
- Lead architecture reviews, technical governance forums, and key technology decisions.
- Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Establish engineering best practices across development, testing, deployment, and operations.
Innovation & Transformation
- Evaluate and incorporate AI, automation, analytics, and intelligent workflow capabilities where they deliver measurable business value.
- Assess emerging technologies and drive adoption through governed architecture standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and business stakeholders to accelerate digital transformation.
- Help shape the future evolution of DXC's insurance technology platforms.
Mentorship & Influence
- Mentor architects, engineers, and technical leaders.
- Promote architecture excellence, platform thinking, and engineering discipline.
- Build alignment across distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Influence technical strategy at both project and enterprise levels.
What You'll Bring
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
- Proven experience designing and governing enterprise-scale SaaS and platform-based solutions.
- Strong expertise in cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.

- Deep hands-on experience with:
- - Scoped Applications
- - Flow Designer
- - Integration Hub
- - UI Builder
- - CMDB

Technical Expertise
- SaaS and multi-tenant platform architecture
- Microservices and distributed systems
- REST and GraphQL APIs
- Event-driven integration and orchestration
- Enterprise integration patterns
- Data governance and synchronization strategies
- Observability, resiliency, and performance engineering
- CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
- Cloud architecture principles
Insurance Domain Experience
- Experience with insurance technology ecosystems, including:
- - Policy administration platforms
- - Claims management systems
- - Billing platforms
- - Customer engagement solutions
- - Document management systems
- - Insurance data platforms
- - Modern insurance administration platforms
- Experience with insurance core platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens, Majesco, or similar solutions is highly desirable.
Leadership Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to influence engineering, product, operations, and executive leadership teams.
- Experience participating in or leading Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and governance forums.
- Ability to balance strategic architecture vision with practical delivery execution.
