About the Role

Slalom is seeking an Enterprise Architect who combines broad technology depth, strong business judgment, and a practical delivery mindset to help clients turn ambitious outcomes into coherent, executable solutions. This role works across a portfolio of Salesforce, integration, cloud, data, and enterprise applications to define a clear technical direction and help teams deliver it. The Enterprise Architect will be equally credible with executives, product and business leaders, architects, and delivery teams, organizing the right people, resolving difficult tradeoffs, advancing sales and delivery, and producing tangible work products that move a program forward.

This role owns technical visions, target-state architectures, and roadmaps for strategic programs and pursuits, using architecture governance as a practical means to accelerate sound decisions and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with client executives, business leaders, and delivery teams to understand desired outcomes, business processes, functional and non-functional requirements, constraints, and measures of success.
  • Translate business needs into practical, enterprise-level solution strategies and target-state architectures spanning business, application, integration, data, technology, security, and operating-model considerations.
  • Shape integrated solution portfolios including Salesforce core platform capabilities (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Data Cloud), MuleSoft and API-led integration, hyperscaler services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform), data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake), ERP, and other enterprise applications.
  • Lead collaborative architecture, discovery, and design sessions to align stakeholders around a feasible path forward.
  • Produce and maintain clear architecture artifacts such as solution visions, capability maps, system context and integration designs, data flows, non-functional requirements, decision records, roadmaps, and phased delivery approaches.
  • Assess current-state landscapes, identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and technical debt, and recommend sequenced improvements balancing business value, delivery speed, cost, resilience, security, and maintainability.
  • Guide the technical strategy and integrated delivery of large, multi-workstream programs, including custom development, package configuration, integration, data migration, platform engineering, environment and release management, and change adoption.
  • Establish lightweight, fit-for-purpose architecture guardrails and design reviews to improve quality, consistency, and reuse while keeping teams moving quickly.
  • Work with account, pursuit, and delivery leaders to shape opportunities, estimate technical work, define delivery approaches, communicate tradeoffs, and build client confidence from early sales through program execution.
  • Lead and mentor solution architects, technical architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams; create alignment across workstreams and resolve complex decisions before they become delivery blockers.
  • Contribute to the growth of Slalom's Enterprise Architecture capability through reusable methods, points of view, accelerators, community building, mentoring, and active knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain a target billable utilization aligned to the role.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in solution, technical, enterprise, or domain architecture roles, including significant experience leading complex technology programs or transformations in a consulting or client-facing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-workstream programs from shaping through delivery, connecting business outcomes to a portfolio of technical solutions and coordinating teams across platforms, vendors, and organizational boundaries.
  • Deep Salesforce platform experience, including core CRM capabilities and multiple clouds (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Data Cloud, or comparable products); able to determine when Salesforce is the right answer and how it should fit within a broader enterprise landscape.
  • Strong integration architecture experience, including MuleSoft or comparable integration platforms, APIs, event-driven patterns, data synchronization, security, error handling, and operational support considerations.
  • Working depth in one or more hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), and familiarity with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience integrating CRM and digital platforms with ERP, customer data, analytics, identity, commerce, marketing, legacy, and other enterprise systems.
  • Strong command of architectural and delivery concerns including data architecture, security, privacy, identity and access management, scalability, performance, availability, resilience, observability, environment strategy, release management, CI/CD, and operational readiness.
  • Ability to quickly organize cross-functional teams and convert ambiguity into decisions, plans, and work products.
  • Comfortable applying architecture methods pragmatically; values outcomes, clarity, and delivery momentum over rigid framework adherence.
  • Proven consultative and communication skills: able to facilitate executive conversations, explain complex tradeoffs in clear business language, build trust, and tailor materials to the audience.
  • Experience leading technical teams and design reviews, coaching architects and engineers, and raising the quality and consistency of solution delivery.
  • Relevant Salesforce, cloud, integration, data, or architecture certifications are valued; equivalent experience and demonstrated expertise will be considered.
  • Able to travel up to 50%, based on client and business needs.

What Success Looks Like

  • Clients have a clear, credible path from business ambition to an integrated technical solution and a phased delivery plan.
  • Sales and delivery teams make faster, better-informed decisions because architecture is understandable, actionable, and grounded in real program constraints.
  • Solutions across Salesforce, cloud, data, integration, and enterprise applications work together as a coherent portfolio—not a collection of disconnected platform decisions.
  • Teams are aligned, delivery risks are surfaced early, and governance enables momentum without becoming bureaucracy.
  • Slalom's Enterprise Architecture capability becomes more repeatable, more connected to client outcomes, and stronger through the architect's leadership and mentoring.
