About the role
The Office of Research at Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) facilitates life-saving biomedical research. The Research Systems unit, including the Developer position, supports various research teams and applications.
Responsibilities
- Designs, analyzes, codes, tests, debugs, modifies, and documents moderately complex applications.
- Mentors and coaches development staff.
- Provides guidance and training to ensure adherence to established standards and best practices.
- Contributes to development standards, guidelines, and processes, promoting continuous improvement.
- Functions as a point of contact for answering questions and providing technical leadership.
- Converts concepts and ideas into solutions through detailed specifications and collaboration with business users.
- Analyzes, designs, and modifies existing business applications and processes, recommending improvements.
- Diagnoses and resolves problems in the maintenance and support of business applications.
- Works independently and maintains focus on priority tasks.
- Collaborates with business and management teams to develop efficient plans, processes, timelines, and work requirements.
- Pairs with end-users and technical staff to diagnose and resolve problems related to business processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressively more responsible development experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in business process management software development and validation.
- Ability to convert concepts into solutions and manage projects in a full lifecycle environment.
- Experience with web services and reporting services through SSRS.
- Experience working in an SaaS environment.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Products.
- Customer support, systems analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
