About the role
The Enrollment Specialist supports individuals throughout the enrollment process, ensuring applications and member information are complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner. This role serves as an important point of contact for members, helping answer questions, resolve enrollment issues, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth and accurate enrollment operations.
Responsibilities
- Process new and existing member enrollment applications accurately and within established timelines
- Review applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Verify eligibility and demographic information
- Respond to member inquiries regarding enrollment, eligibility, coverage, and required documentation
- Handle inbound and outbound calls and electronic communications as needed
- Identify and resolve enrollment discrepancies and data issues
- Maintain accurate member records across internal systems
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to resolve enrollment-related issues
- Follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Document member interactions and enrollment activities accurately
- Protect confidential member information and maintain compliance with applicable privacy requirements
- Monitor pending applications and follow up on outstanding information
- Provide professional, empathetic, and timely customer service
- Support process improvements and other enrollment-related projects as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in enrollment, healthcare administration, customer service, insurance, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain enrollment and eligibility information clearly
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer or case management systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
- Experience handling confidential or protected information preferred
