Enrichment Teacher
About the role
This is a hands-on, heart-forward role at a cooperative preschool where play is serious work. As an Enrichment Teacher, whether you specialize in music, yoga, art, or another creative field, you’ll step into our classrooms to lead sessions that feel both grounded and full of possibility.
Responsibilities
- Infuse the environment with a unique spark, whether that looks like leading a group in rhythm and song, supporting a unique art project, or facilitating movement and mindfulness in the yard.
- Provide a structured experience that integrates into our community's focus on social-emotional growth and creative exploration.
- Lead dedicated one-hour lessons in both our spaces, offering children a focused opportunity to engage with your craft.
- Your approach should remain flexible and inviting, honoring the curiosity of the children and helping them navigate these new experiences with empathy and encouragement.
Requirements
- Specialize in music, yoga, art, or another creative field.
- Experience working with children in a similar setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Teacher-Directors.
- Strong communication skills to interact with children, parents, and other staff members.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in education, arts, or a related field.
- At least one year of teaching experience, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and environments.
- Knowledge of child development and educational theories.
- Basic computer skills for managing schedules and communicating with parents.

Pay
$150/hour for enrichment classes.
Schedule
- Enrichment teachers typically visit for a monthly session, or as otherwise agreed upon with the Teacher-Directors.
- Timing: Enrichment classes usually take place Tuesday through Friday, between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
- Rotation: You will spend approximately one hour in FY and one hour in BY.
- Transitions: Please plan for transition times between the two classes. Depending on your setup and preparation needs, we recommend allotting at least 15–20 minutes to avoid rushing.
