About the Role
Come ready to teach—and be prepared to learn! As an Activity Enrichment Leader at Belmont Village Senior Living, you will use an established, research‑based curriculum to lead small‑group fitness, art, music, learning, and enrichment programs for cognitively impaired older adults. Your ability to engage different personalities, adapt instruction, facilitate discussion, and make learning enjoyable is key to success. Residents bring a lifetime of experience, and you may arrive prepared to teach a class, lead a discussion, or share a new skill and leave having learned something unexpected yourself. This role is ideal for teachers or educators seeking a rewarding senior‑living career, even if you have never worked with older adults before.
Responsibilities
- Lead and teach small groups of cognitively impaired seniors using our award‑winning therapeutic Whole Brain Fitness programs.
- Prepare materials and conduct relevant research to confidently lead engaging memory‑enrichment activities.
- Assist with cognitive assessments, track and trend resident participation, and maintain compliance‑related documentation.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with coursework in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months leading group activities with a special‑needs population.
- Ability to work the defined schedule, which may include weekends.
- Clear verbal and written communication in English.
- Professional, pleasant, adaptable, and team‑oriented attitude.
- Consistent and reliable attendance essential for successful community operation.
