The Community Group (TCG) operates eight Community Kids Place (CKP) Out-of-School Time (OST) programs in Lawrence and Methuen, serving over 400 students in partnership with local school districts. CKP provides high-quality enrichment opportunities during the school year and summer, including field trips, project-based learning, collaboration with community partners, and extended time with school-day teachers. Aligned with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) 21st Century Community Learning Centers model, the program focuses on academic and social-emotional growth. All CKP sites are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, ensuring a safe, high-quality learning environment. Job Summary The Enrichment Educator supports the CKP programs by developing and delivering interdisciplinary, hands-on, and age-appropriate project-based activities, in addition to providing homework assistance. These activities must be both academically and developmentally suitable for students enrolled in CKP school age programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining and environment that supports and encourages the growth and development of children; Ensure the care, safety, and well-being of children in the group; Provide a program inclusive to all children and families regardless of lifestyle and belief system; Participate in staff meetings, and on-going trainings; Complete all required certifications; and All other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications Uphold a passionate belief in The Community Group's mission, values, and educational model. K1-8 teaching experience and knowledge of Massachusetts frameworks is required; Willingness to learn about children’s growth and development; Enthusiasm for project-based learning; creativity in planning; Willingness to accept feedback and to modify projects to ensure high-quality programming that meets DESE guidelines; A strong understanding of children’s developmental and academic needs; Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues; Ability to motivate and engage students in learning; Ability to build strong relationships with students and families; Completed background checks and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care; Evidence of physical examination within one year prior to employment; Evidence of immunizations against Measles, Mumps and Rubella; and Maintain current infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification. Working Conditions - Physical Requirements: This position offers part-time hours between 3:00pm-5:30pm during the school year, and between 7:15am-3:15pm during summer vacation. This position operates in a shared, student-centered environment that may be active and stimulating, with elevated noise levels and frequent activity. The position requires the ability to supervise and engage groups of students and to respond appropriately to multiple simultaneous demands. Physical demands include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, move throughout the program environments (which may include stairs or uneven surfaces), and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. The role may occasionally require lifting up to 10 pounds (such as files, laptops, or program materials).
