About the Role

Assist the enrichment team in engaging residents with an enriched lifestyle by creating, coordinating, and executing programs, events, and excursions that support whole-person wellness and well-being. This position delivers engaging and safe programming tailored to the age, physical, or cognitive condition of residents, aligning with Lenbrook’s mission. The Programs and Excursions Coordinator suggests and applies accommodations to enable full resident participation in programming and serves as a professional liaison between the Enrichment department, residents, business partners, and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately populate the monthly independent living programs and events calendar for timely distribution in designated communication channels.
  • Create and post sign-up sheets for each event or program requiring resident headcount, including details such as walking requirements, costs, billing, descriptions, menus, and other pertinent information.
  • Plan and execute resident excursions, including billing/collecting payments within 48 hours, arranging transportation, tickets, restaurant reservations, accompanying residents on trips, developing trip lists, and maintaining consistent communication with the resident excursion committee chair.
  • Assist the Enrichment team in designing and planning programs and events, including follow-up evaluations of participant numbers, expenses, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate, promote, and execute programs and events, including scheduling and paying in-house entertainment or speakers, arranging room reservations, and managing audiovisual and other equipment needs.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Promote events through various mediums, such as submissions to the Spotlight, flyers, TV calendars, and hard-copy calendars.
  • Solicit and respond to residents’ requests for programs, events, workshops, and special events, communicating this information through proper channels.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate supplies to support departmental operations.
  • Contribute extensively toward achieving departmental goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of whole-person wellness and resident-centered care, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Project a positive professional image and take responsibility for personal growth and learning, including continuing education.
  • Effectively use resources and strive for efficiency while abiding by department, personnel, and company policies and procedures.
  • Meet regular and predictable attendance requirements and work evening and weekend hours on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Publisher skills required; intermediate skills preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working with active, engaged seniors or similar relevant experience.
  • Certification as an Activity Professional by a recognized accrediting body is preferred.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Schedule

Must be able to work evening and weekend hours on a regularly scheduled basis.
