English Teacher in Cupertino, CA

Job Information

Student: Individual classes for children (age 4 years old & 7 years old)

Availability: Any weekdays between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM

Preferred start date: Asap

Lesson frequency: 1x a week

Lesson duration: 1h each

Location / time zone: Near Sweet Maple Restaurant (20010 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA)

Current target language level: Complete beginner & Intermediate

Native and other spoken languages: Native Korean; English learned for 3 years.

Language needs and goals:

• 7-years-old: Learn grade-level (or advanced) vocabulary and grammar, build reading interest, and develop the ability to write and present structured opinions; catch up with and progress beyond school curriculum as a non-native speaker.
• He is in pre-K and his parent's main goal is for him to build a solid foundation in all core learning skills: listening, reading, comprehension, and speaking. They would like my him to develop the ability to understand and communicate in English naturally. They would like his lessons to touch on the below topics mainly: - Building vocabulary

Responsibilities

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications

• To have native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language
• To have a degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or a related field
• To have a minimum of two years of ESL teaching experience
• Having experience working with young children is a must
