Employment Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and five (5) years of clerical experience
- Demonstrated reliability, flexibility and stress management within an ever changing environment
- Technology skills in areas of typing, word processing, Excel, Outlook, PowerSchool, alarm systems, phone systems and building intercom
- Strong people and communication skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work effectively individually or as part of a team
Essential Job Duties
- Assists with the registration of new students (input personal info into PowerSchool, request transcripts, request student files, STN updates, and keep log for all new enrollees)
- Assists with the input of daily discipline data into PowerSchool
- Generate reports for faculty/staff (attendance, discipline, class rosters, GPA, etc.)
- Answer telephone; take messages for staff/students
- Request homework/assignments from teachers for absent students
- Fax records/other student information as needed
- Meet with parents and students as they come in for various reasons
- Act as nurse if needed
- Take calls for absences and appointments; writes passes
- Find clothes, books, money, IDs, assignments, personal notes, medicines, instruments, etc. and have delivered to students
- Record attendance, absences, and tardies daily into PowerSchool
- Take care of prearranged absences
- Check sub report daily and confirm with Region 8
- Collect money from teachers and balance and receipt of monies
- Collect, balance and receipt assignment book money, textbook rental money, and iPad repair money
- Enter iPad damage into PowerSchool and bill parents for breakage
- Count and balance lunch money daily
- Write checks for payments out of ECA funds
- Enter payroll for Certified and Classified employees; as well as entering absences for staff
- Enter requisitions and purchase orders
- Inventory and order office supplies, as needed
- Assists Athletic Director with schedules, officials and workers
- Works as the website administrator for school website page as well as e-blasts and newsletters
- Documents discipline information in PowerSchool and sends home notifications to parents
- Prints report cards, mid-term grades and calculates honor roll information
- Prepares monthly State reports and other reports as needed during the year
- Responsible for checking in visitors to the building using security program
- Runs criminal background checks for the building administrator
- Updates building calendars as needed
- Maintains compliance with the Classified Employee Handbook
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
