English Language Learner (ELL) Tutor

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide online and in-person tutoring to individuals and small groups.
• Review organizational and study strategies with students.
• Participate in departmental and inter-departmental meetings and attend in-service and other job-related training.
• Refer students to college support services and other college departments when necessary.
• Communicate with campus coordinator to ensure continued successful operation of the program.
• Provide embedded tutoring support within assigned classrooms
• Communicate regularly with ELL faculty
• Document tutoring sessions using tutoring.
• Auxiliary in coordinating pre-semester outreach and study strategy services.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of an associate’s degree or junior/senior year status at a four-year college or university.
• Prior experience tutoring or teaching English Language Learners.

Preferred Requirements

• PREFERRED MAJORS ARE ENGLISH, EDUCATION, AND WORLD LANGUAGES.
• BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN ONE OF THE ABOVE DISCIPLINES PREFERRED.
• Experience using Civitas, Blackboard Ultra, Zoom, WebEx
