Position Summary
Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities. AMS is seeking a passionate, data-driven English Language Development Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and build strong foundational literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks.
- Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional planning and interventions.
- Build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
- Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to continuously improve teaching practices.
- Contribute to school-wide systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
- Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or relevant content area)
- Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area
- Minimum of three (3) years of K–12 teaching experience
- Plus SEI Endorsement or completion of 45 hours of SEI training is required to be considered for the role.
