English Class Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking passionate individuals to teach English classes for refugee students and volunteers in Phoenix, AZ. The position involves creating connections and building friendships through English language classes, which use a computer-based learning approach. While experience teaching ESL is not required, it is beneficial. Part-time English Class Leaders facilitate weekly evening classes, interacting with students from various countries and ensuring consistent classroom plans and structures.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a welcoming environment for refugee students and volunteers
• Facilitate English language classes using a computer-based learning approach
• Build and maintain relationships with students and volunteers
• Ensure consistency in classroom plans and structures
• Engage with GoTEN's ministry staff, trainees, and volunteers

Requirements

• An interest in teaching weekly classes
• Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
• Willingness to build and maintain relationships
• Consistent classroom management skills

Qualifications

• No specific teaching experience required
• Experience in teaching/teaching ESL is beneficial
