Key responsibilities

  • Review Maximo Work Management System daily for new work orders and updates to existing customer-facing work orders.
  • Afford assistance with the development and design of electric distribution work orders.
  • Contact customers via phone, email, or text to address questions, provide updates, and coordinate project activities.
  • Conduct field visits to gather data, evaluate existing infrastructure, and take field notes for design development.
  • Afford assistance in the design of new electric service installations for residential and commercial customers, including primary and secondary distribution facilities, in accordance with company standards.
  • Utilize DesignLite and other company systems to create and modify distribution designs and work orders.
  • Prepare construction and design packages in accordance with company standards and specifications.
  • Provide cost estimates to customers when applicable.
  • Cook up coordination with engineers, project managers, construction personnel, and customers throughout project execution.
  • Maintain oversight of active projects and afford assistance in resolving construction-related issues until service is energized and meters are installed.
  • Review project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements and utilize required PPE during field activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in electric utility operations, distribution design, drafting, engineering support, construction, or related technical work.
  • Basic understanding of electric distribution systems and utility infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maps, and technical documents.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical software systems.
  • Ability to work both in the field and office environment.

Nice-to-have / preferred skills

  • Prior electric utility experience.
  • Exposure to distribution design or utility work order development.
  • Experience supporting customer service or asset replacement projects.
  • Familiarity with Maximo, DesignLite, GIS, CAD, or utility design software.
  • Experience interacting directly with residential or commercial utility customers.

Employment details

  • Type: Standard schedule is 40 hours per week.
