Key responsibilities
- Review Maximo Work Management System daily for new work orders and updates to existing customer-facing work orders.
- Afford assistance with the development and design of electric distribution work orders.
- Contact customers via phone, email, or text to address questions, provide updates, and coordinate project activities.
- Conduct field visits to gather data, evaluate existing infrastructure, and take field notes for design development.
- Afford assistance in the design of new electric service installations for residential and commercial customers, including primary and secondary distribution facilities, in accordance with company standards.
- Utilize DesignLite and other company systems to create and modify distribution designs and work orders.
- Prepare construction and design packages in accordance with company standards and specifications.
- Provide cost estimates to customers when applicable.
- Cook up coordination with engineers, project managers, construction personnel, and customers throughout project execution.
- Maintain oversight of active projects and afford assistance in resolving construction-related issues until service is energized and meters are installed.
- Review project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Adhere to all company safety requirements and utilize required PPE during field activities.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in electric utility operations, distribution design, drafting, engineering support, construction, or related technical work.
- Basic understanding of electric distribution systems and utility infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maps, and technical documents.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical software systems.
- Ability to work both in the field and office environment.
Nice-to-have / preferred skills
- Prior electric utility experience.
- Exposure to distribution design or utility work order development.
- Experience supporting customer service or asset replacement projects.
- Familiarity with Maximo, DesignLite, GIS, CAD, or utility design software.
- Experience interacting directly with residential or commercial utility customers.
Employment details
