Engineering Technician V (Full-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to test, troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical and electronic equipment for Navy shipboard systems. This role involves interpreting technical documentation, adhering to safety protocols, and providing design recommendations to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on Navy ships in compliance with naval procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical instructions to fabricate wiring and cable runs.
• Execute shipboard tag-out procedures and maintain strict safety standards.
• Disassemble, inspect, and test equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Use electrical and electronic measuring instruments to diagnose issues and validate repairs.
• Document work performed and provide design recommendations based on inspections and testing.
• Work in confined spaces and perform manual tasks requiring physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with military or technical school training in naval systems.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Navy shipboard electrical and HM&E (Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical) systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, understanding mechanical systems, and working with electrical components.
• Ability to use common electrical and electronic measuring devices.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Candidate must provide their own tools for the position.
