About the Role

The technician will test, troubleshoot, repair, and make design recommendations for electrical and electronic equipment, including reading blueprints, interpreting technical manuals, and supporting shipboard systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shipboard tag-out procedures and adhere to Naval protocols.
  • Maintain safety standards and OSHA compliance.
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, reassemble, and test electrical equipment.
  • Work with Navy electrical systems such as switchboards, controls, and distribution panels.
  • Use electrical measurement tools and precision instruments.
  • Design working diagrams, plan cable runs, and calculate electrical requirements.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
  • High school diploma, GED, or military/trade school certification with naval systems knowledge.
  • Five years of experience in Navy shipboard electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and blueprint reading.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to pass drug screening.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  • Tools provided by candidate; willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior military or maritime industry experience.
  • Familiarity with shipboard systems.
