Engineering Technician - Ship/Submarine

About the Role

Support C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines as part of a maritime alteration team. Responsibilities include complex mechanical, sub-assembly, rack, and chassis assembly, demonstrating superior workmanship in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical, sub-assembly, rack, and chassis assembly in shipboard environments.
• Maintain superior workmanship standards in mission-critical installations.
• Demonstrate leadership in safety protocols, including Haz-Mat and Confined Spaces certifications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, climb, and work at heights using ladders and scaffolds.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years in mechanical or structural assembly, repair, and planning, including shipboard requirements.
• Completion of a two-year contractor apprenticeship, military technical training, or an associate degree in a related engineering field (preferred).
• Experience with layouts, schematics, system design, and test analysis.
• Ability to work at various heights, lift heavy objects, and use ladders and scaffolds safely.
• Strong problem recognition, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
• US citizenship eligible for security clearance and ability to pass background checks.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Additional Requirements

• Work primarily in shipyards in the US, with potential travel to other locations.
• Ability to work overtime, safeguard equipment, and organize tasks efficiently.
