Engineering Technician (Remote)
About the role
The Engineering Technician position at Environmental Solutions Group - 3rd Eye is responsible for designing and validating electrical and camera systems and components for on/off-highway vocational mobile equipment. Key aspects include creating project timelines, scope of work documents, and work instructions, as well as working with suppliers to select electrical system components, developing software for PLCs/Controllers, and assisting production/field techs with electrical system diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics of varying complexities.
- Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers, distributors, and salespersons.
- Reduce system level customer requirements to electrical specifications and requirements.
- Coordinate design validation testing at component, subsystem, and system level.
- Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, deliverables, and quality plans.
- Develop work instructions to assist field techs with installation.
- Travel up to 50-60% of time, work overtime and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in applicable work environment required.
- Experience required with electrical systems and repairs of on road/off road vehicles or equipment.
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Controller software experience.
- Circuit design experience with electromechanical components.
- Mobile equipment harness design.
- Experience with vehicle mounted camera and recording systems.
