Our client is an established automotive manufacturing and remanufacturing organization focused on producing high-quality components for OEM and aftermarket customers. The company offers a hands-on production environment with an emphasis on quality, continuous improvement, safety, and efficient manufacturing processes. We are seeking an Engineering Technician – Product Analysis to support product testing, manufacturing processes, and quality initiatives. This individual will spend significant time on the production floor investigating product and process issues, analyzing failures, reviewing production data, and helping implement corrective actions. The role works closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality to improve processes and ensure products meet customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Inspect, disassemble, test, and analyze failed, rejected, and warranty-returned products.Perform root-cause analysis and assist with developing corrective actions for product and process issues.Review live production information to identify process concerns, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.Create and update production work orders and manufacturing instructions as needed.Conduct process audits and verify production teams are following established procedures.Partner with Quality to ensure products and manufacturing processes meet customer and internal standards.Collect, document, and communicate testing results and failure findings to Engineering and Quality.Set up and operate testing equipment while ensuring test data remains accurate and reliable.Track rejected units and assist with determining appropriate failure classifications.Troubleshoot production equipment and escalate maintenance concerns when appropriate.Assist with preventive maintenance of machinery, tools, and testing equipment.Support engineering tests, continuous-improvement efforts, and other departmental projects.Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following established quality and safety procedures. Qualifications 3–5 years of relevant manufacturing, remanufacturing, engineering technician, or product-analysis experience preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.Comfortable using hand tools, pneumatic tools, testing equipment, and manufacturing machinery.Strong computer skills with the ability to enter and analyze data and update production documentation.Experience investigating manufacturing problems and determining root causes.Ability to understand manufacturing processes and identify potential improvements.Experience working with Quality teams or supporting process audits is preferred.Knowledge of machinery maintenance and preventive maintenance practices.PLC experience is highly desirable.Familiarity with ISO 9001, OSHA, or similar manufacturing quality and safety standards is beneficial.Experience with automotive electrical components, starters, alternators, or similar products is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent required.
