Engineering Technician Level 3

About the role

Join the Power Hardware Engineering group at Rockwell Automation, where you'll design and test high voltage printed circuits boards, bus bars, power components, and variable frequency drives. These products enable customers to achieve optimal motor control and save energy.

This role reports to the Power Engineering Team Lead and is based in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Modify and test high voltage printed circuits boards using oscilloscopes, DMMs, and other lab equipment
• Run both functional and qualification tests in the in-house motor dyne test lab using Drive Explorer and CCW (Connected Components Workbench)
• Provide cross-functional support and troubleshooting throughout the development phase

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Legal authorization to work in the US
• Typically requires 2 years of related experience
• Experience working safely with high voltage (>50V)
• Experience soldering and desoldering both through hole and SMT components
• Experience troubleshooting electronic circuits from schematics and assembly drawings
• Experience wiring and running variable frequency drives
• Experience performing breakdown of components testing, thermal, short circuit, and EMC testing
• Experience working on a cross-functional scrum/agile team
• Experience maintaining, organizing, and recommending updates for equipment in labs

Skills

• Soldering: small components down to 0402s and heavy copper (multi-layer of 2 oz) through hole components
• Taking and understanding high voltage and current measurements on oscilloscopes and DMMs
• Drive Explorer, CCW (Connected Components Workbench), and SAP Basic
