About the role
STi (http://www.sti-inc.com) is a private engineering contractor seeking to fill positions for an upcoming long-term contract with the DoD. The contract offers high job stability.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, directs, and controls NUWCDIVKPT’s Test, Training and Evaluation (TT&E) of Undersea Warfare (USW) Systems and Operational Readiness Assessment support for Acquisition and Fleet customers.
- Conducts system evaluation activities throughout all phases of the acquisition life cycle including technology development, system design, development, production, and in-service readiness assessment.
- Plans and executes test programs; provides test environments that closely approximate war-fighting environments; provides methods for measuring system performance in those environments; and conducts performance analysis and evaluation of the systems under test.
- Supports Analysis and Assessment, Fleet Material Readiness, Signatures and Susceptibility and other Product Areas.
- Operates and maintains range support systems, provides maintenance logs, trend analysis, and updates range databases.
- Verifies systems operability and logs all maintenance actions.
- Conducts equipment maintenance, backup system-software, and upgrades for the Range systems monthly.
- Provides independent assessment and technical support for Fleet Validation/Verification and Range Tests including dockside and underway shipboard technical support for Shipboard Simulation and Recovery Systems.
- Categorizes and summarizes failure information into a listing delineating failed equipment, causes, dates, corrective actions, recommendations, and impacts.
- Analyzes any recurrent events or trends and prepares Failure Analysis Reports.
- Collects and inputs Range technical, test, maintenance, and schedule data into various Range Databases.
- Provides technical support of communication/radio equipment in support of Radio Shop.
- Provides technical support for parts research using Government databases and websites.
- Designs, develops, fabricates, and assembles equipment and components under development by the USW Test, Training, and Evaluation Group.
- Assists in the Turn-Around of the Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV) to support such projects as MTV, XTV and other like projects such as mid-size UUV Razorback and large displacement UUV Snakehead.
- Breakdown and reassembly of the system and on-site mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of the system.
- Containerization of the vehicle.
- Conducted planned maintenance on the vehicle and associated test sets.
Qualifications
- Desired Associates' Degree and one year of experience in related field.
Skills
- Knowledge of Undersea Warfare Systems
- Ability to operate and maintain range support systems
- Experience with test environments and performance analysis

$31.22 per hour. Additional Rate: $4.54 per hour for Health and Welfare.
