Engineering Technician II

About the role

The Engineering Technician II position at Terracon is responsible for performing various material and facility inspections and tests.

Responsibilities

• Conducts concrete field testing and strength testing according to ACI standards.
• Operates Nuclear Density Gauge for density measurements.
• Performs welding inspections and non-destructive testing as per AWS and ASNT standards.
• Assists in roof inspections and other facility-related tasks as required.
• Ensures compliance with all safety protocols and maintains accurate records.

Requirements

• ACI certification in Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, or Radiation Safety.
• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Relevant certification for roofing and other facilities as needed.
• Internal safety certificate completed.
• High school diploma or equivalent degree.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with laptop computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of internal safety certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be required.

Skills

• Knowledge of ACI standards and ISO 17635.
• Experience with Nuclear Density Gauge and other inspection equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
