Engineering Technician II

Job Responsibilities

• Perform field testing & measurements such as: Substation and Powerplant Ground Grid Measurements, Substation and Powerplant Ground Grid Continuity Testing, Soil Resistivity Measurements
• Help support onsite electrical testing activities in the ATS High Current Yard and High Voltage Lab
• Aid with investigations and failure analysis work
• Fabricate and set up test fixtures
• Operate test equipment (Hi-pot, Megger, etc.)
• Set up and operate Test Yards & Labs
• Dismantle, disassemble, and dispose of equipment
• Handle material and logistical support
• Maintain and calibrate lab and test equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum: AA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or similar appropriate area of study; Or the equivalent education and experience
• 2 years of experience as Engineering Technician I, or, as an Electrician, Electric Technician, or similar role
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain one by the first day of employment
• Desired: Three years or more of experience as an Electrician, Electric Technician, or similar role
• Knowledge of electrical testing techniques, test equipment, and materials involved
• Familiarity with Quality Programs
• NETA certification is highly desirable or equivalent to high-voltage electrical testing, maintenance and commissioning.
