The Engineering Technician II supports the software development team by performing a variety of technical and software-related tasks across multiple projects and development teams. This position is intended for someone who has a strong technical foundation, is continuing to develop their software engineering skills, and is actively working toward completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. The technician will work under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads while gradually taking on more complex and independent assignments. Responsibilities Assists engineers with designs, tests, and machinery, products, and other equipment. Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions, such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts. Assists in the analysis of test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications. Assists in the set up and testing of complete units and components. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Qualifications Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent experience in software development, computer science, engineering technology, or a related field.Must be actively working toward a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.Experience developing software using C# and .NET.Experience with Unity, WPF, and Three.js.Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.Working knowledge of software design, debugging, testing, and version control.Ability to learn new technologies, troubleshoot technical issues, and support multiple development teams.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing simulation, training, 3D, or interactive applications.Familiarity with Agile development practices, Git, and software configuration management.Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering or government-contracting environment.
