Responsibilities

  • Support undersea tracking range operations by operating and maintaining range support systems (electronic, acoustic, video, mechanical, electro-hydraulic).
  • Maintain logs, conduct trend analysis, and update range databases.
  • Perform monthly system backups, software upgrades, and failure analysis reporting.
  • Provide technical support for Fleet Validation/Verification and Range Tests (dockside and shipboard).
  • Support design, fabrication, and assembly of developmental range test systems.
  • Cover depot-level repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of MK30 Target components and assemblies.
  • Support turn-around, breakdown/reassembly, and troubleshooting of MK30 Targets and Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs).
  • Provide technical support for communications/radio equipment, parts research, and extended operational schedules.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current).
  • Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or related field.
  • Engineering Technician II: 1+ year relevant experience.
  • Engineering Technician IV: 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Electronics troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Experience testing circuit cards and electronic assemblies.
  • Knowledge of test tracking databases (e.g., CATTS, TMIS).
  • Prior Navy or defense industry support experience.

Qualifications

Preferable qualifications include:

  • Experience with test tracking databases (e.g., CATTS, TMIS).
  • Knowledge of ISO9000 lab manual instructions for production control processes.
  • Experience with Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Failure Analysis Reports, and production control documentation.
  • Ability to handle classified and unclassified test item storage, inventory, and shipments according to Navy standards.
