About the role
The Contractor shall provide engineering technician services to the various FAALC Product Divisions to help assure that electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment meets serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements. These services may include tasks such as assembling, repairing and refurbishing equipment, components, test fixtures, and prototypes; performing equipment performance analyses and data collection and reporting; and installing equipment and modifications.
Responsibilities
- NAVAID antenna and component repair and overhaul.
- Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting and repair.
- Circuit board testing and repair.
- Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses.
- Performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting.
- Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification.
- Installation of equipment and components, and modifications.
- Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes.
- Structural inspection of towers and tower components at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet.
- Maintenance on the inside and outside of tower structures at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet.
- Performing corrosion control and prevention.
- Operation of equipment such as boom man lifts and motorized forklifts.
- Working from ropes at heights.
- Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components on NAS and Inter-Agency systems.
- Due to the limitations of fall protection gear, the minimum weight for an applicant is 125lbs, the maximum weight is 290lbs.
- Position requires traveling, up to 70%, and may entail emergency call outs for corrective maintenance as required.
- Assists crew lead with workload scheduling and planning.
- Meets with internal customers and may coordinate with external customers regarding projects.
- Assists junior technicians with technical tasks and may be required to provide on the job training.
- Assists crew lead in project package reviews and provides feedback to internal customers.
Qualifications
- An associate degree in electrical or engineering technology and completion of formal technical training courses is required for level II.
- Due to safety and operational requirements mandated by our government customer, all engineering technicians are required to successfully complete a physical fitness evaluation, which includes specific weight restrictions of minimum 125lbs and maximum of 290lbs.
- Practical experience in an engineering technician support position is required. This experience must include assisting in developing, reviewing, and updating engineering documentation and processes, and in troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical, and mechanical systems and equipment.
- Assisting in producing, reviewing, revising, and interpreting technical documents; assisting in designing, fabricating, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, and prototypes.
- Developing and performing equipment and component adjustment, test, and certification processes; and in installing equipment and modifications.
- NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust.
- Estimated Monthly Travel required for this position: 70%.
- A valid drivers license is required.
- Must possess TWO forms of unexpired identification to meet eligibility requirements. One Primary form of government-issued identification, selected from the following: Valid REAL ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued ID card, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation ID Card, U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card, Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551), U.S. Military or U.S. Military dependent's ID Card with photograph, U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card. One secondary form of identification, such as: Social security card, original or certified copy of a birth certificate, certificate of U.S. Citizenship or Naturalization, voter registration card.
