Provide support to the Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations Division on both the east and west coast.
Responsibilities
- Boat operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems
- Shipboard support, including launching and recovery of small boats
- Perform duties with minimal supervision
- Support multiple systems on a variety of projects nationwide
- Participate in functions beyond normal operations (training provided)
- Travel 40-50% of the year, from one to six weeks at a time
- Work varying hours, including nights and pre-dawn departures, based on customer requirements
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (trade school training or professional certifications/licenses a plus)
- Minimum 2 years of general mechanical and boat operations experience (Tech II level)
- General knowledge of boat operations, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Experience driving pickup trucks with trailers on roads and in enclosed/limited spaces
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
- Physically capable of transferring between vessels at sea
- Valid state driver’s license (Commercial Driver License a plus)
- Ability to obtain a passport
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Interim Secret Security clearance
- Must pass a drug screening
Work Conditions
- Work environments vary: desk work (data submission, reports, work orders), shops (engine rebuild, metal, wood, paint booth, electrical/electronic, micro mini repair, target, trailer), administrative/support rooms, and warehouse spaces
- Operate small boats in local waters and offshore fleet operating areas
- Environmental conditions vary based on operational requirements
