About the role

Elbit America is a leading provider of high-performance products, system solutions, and support services focusing on the defense, homeland security, commercial aviation, and medical instrumentation markets. The Warfighter Systems business is rooted in the heart of Virginia’s Roanoke Valley, and as a world leader in low-light sensor technology, the team is engineering the future of image intensifiers and night vision goggle systems.

The company is seeking a technician to assist in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing processes for the manufacturing of night vision components. A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment, as well as an understanding of Six-Sigma tools and Lean methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Review and disposition of night vision components
  • Training of production employees
  • Leading or participating in projects to increase yield, increase productivity, reduce waste, improve work processes, and improve product performance quality
  • Working with area engineers and managers to optimize yields and throughput
  • Participating in and promoting Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferably in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or related work experience
  • 2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience training others
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance

Skills

  • Experience with review/inspection of electrical assemblies
  • Experience writing MS Access queries
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software: Minitab, JMP, SAS
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Conformance Testing to Mil-Stds
  • Capable of performing process engineering tasks proportionate to their experience
