Engineering Technician I LOE 867 with Security Clearance

Overview Background Information: This entry-level, onsite position supports the Telemetry Operations Team at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. ATR is the Navy's East Coast open air test range and provides real-time flight test operations support including data acquisition services to DoD customers. Duties & Responsibility Requirements: Support local and remote real-time test flightsTroubleshoot telemetry antenna and supporting instrumentation issues in real-timeOperate and maintain Antenna Telemetry Acquisition Systems (ATAS) and Telemetry Acquisition Systems (TAS)Operate oscilloscopes/spectrum analyzers/receivers/transmittersObtain knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory and applicationWork with basic hand/power toolsLearn from senior technicians Note: This job description describes the general nature of the duties and requirements of the job. Educational, Experience, and Skill Requirements:High School diploma or equivalentTechnician I: *1 year of experience performing the same or similar function. In lieu of 1 year of work experience, 12 semester hours of college courses related to the field, or 1 year in a trade/tech school of similar function can be substituted.Apprentice: *Enrollment in an Engineering/Electronics Technician AA/AS degree or related curriculum from an accredited college or universityUpon successful completion of the Apprentice Program the candidate will qualify as an Engineering Technician IICandidate should be a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and may at times need to research solutions independentlyMust be flexible and team orientedMust be able to travel 50-75% of the time on trips lasting anywhere from a few days up to a monthMust be able to work frequent overtime as requiredMust possess a valid driver's license and successfully pass drug screening Clearance Requirements:Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance Work Conditions: Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100lbs assisted by other employees. Visual abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
