About the role
The Engineering Technician I position involves performing field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. This includes communicating with various stakeholders such as project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors' representatives about the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
Responsibilities
- Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports.
- Communicate findings and results to the Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
- Undergo training and assume increasing responsibilities in work assignments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months experience required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
- Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
- Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Successfully complete related internal safety certifications.
Qualifications
- Ability to adhere to strict safety standards.
- Ability to drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of safety rules and practices.
- Ability to perform pre-task planning and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Responsibility for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
