Responsibilities

  • Perform field and/or laboratory compliance testing on materials generally used in the construction industry (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
  • Training with certification is done in house by experienced project managers using online resources.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, and contractor representatives daily.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
  • Use company trucks to mobilize staff to project sites and deliver samples to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
  • Tabulate, prepare, and submit digital reports using field laptops for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
  • Under close supervision, learn and assist with tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
  • Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss the accuracy of data in preparation for submission.
  • Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Maintain assigned equipment.
  • Follow safety rules and practices and adhere to other safety requirements for all projects.
  • Perform pre-task planning and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Ensure quality standards on all projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
