Pay Range $30.05 - $42.12 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. Federal Ammunition is seeking an Engineering Technician to add to our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside Product Development Engineering. The technician will play a key role in testing, product evaluation, process improvement, and the execution of development activities. This position reports to the Manager of Product Development Engineering and is based out of our office in Anoka, Minnesota. You Will Build, test and evaluate ammunition from conception through full production.Troubleshoot and recommend solutions to both design and manufacturing issues.Create documentation of new products and manufacturing processes.Work independently with minimum supervision (self-starter). You Have High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 24 months or more of employment at The Kinetic Group - AnokaMinimum of 12 months or more in your current position at The Kinetic Group – Anoka (including work preference moves)No disciplinary action within the last 12 months at a Report of Conference level or aboveWorking knowledge of Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing principles and their application in a production environment, including materials planning, inventory management, process efficiency, and continuous improvement initiativesProficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of production processes; skilled in the set up and operation of a variety of production machinesPossess a high level of mechanical aptitude and analytical abilityKnowledge of gaging techniques, ability to use micrometers, calipers, production gagesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasksExperience in ammunition design, ballistics, firearm operation and/ or related processesAbility to work in a team environment You Might Also Have Knowledge of Centerfire ammunition design and manufacturing processesExperience with hand loading ammunitionExperience with Bullet Assembly machinesExperience in operating Mills, lathes and other metal working equipmentExperience with DOEs and other statistical testing to solve complex problemsFamiliarity with ballistics processes and testingAssociate Degree, Vo-Tech or CertificationUnderstanding of lean manufacturing principals Work Environment Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives.
