About the role

This position will be located in one of the identified locations and involves responsibilities such as:

• Utilizing field notes from various sources to plot alignments, grade lines, and cross sections.
• Preparing individual site drawings, standard and non-standard details, building elevations, floor and ceiling plans, and topographic drawings.
• Performing field investigations of proposed project home site locations to gather information.
• Performing construction inspection and interpreting contract plans and specifications for community and individual water supply, wastewater, and solid waste facilities.

Responsibilities

• Create packages and drawing sets utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Perform surveying and construction cost estimating of materials.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must have a valid State driver's license that is REAL ID-compliant.
• Compliance with IHS Employee Immunization Policy related to vaccine-preventable diseases for those working in IHS healthcare facilities.
• This position may be designated under Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. Applicants must not have been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must have a viable bank account for electronic direct deposit of salary payment.
• Must successfully complete a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Applicants must present two valid forms of identification prior to appointment, one of which must be a REAL ID-compliant state-issued ID or driver's license.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-8) in the Federal service, performing tasks such as creating drawing sets using CAD software, and surveying and construction cost estimating of materials.

You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Education

This position has an education requirement. You must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses including course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package, but official transcripts will be required from selectees prior to receiving an official offer.
