About the role
Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.
Responsibilities
- Operates testing equipment and conducts testing (example: Soil, concrete or other), and provides assessment of data through reporting
- Performs field and laboratory testing of soil samples and concrete specimens
- Documentation of daily activities and testing results and preparation of field reports
- Works utilizing drawings, specifications and diagrams
- Makes detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results
- Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results
- Communicates effectively with client and project teams
- Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results
- Interface with contractors and clients
Qualifications
- Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
- Ability to read and understand work plans
- Able to work off shifts and overtime
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required)
- Able to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
- Able to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
- Able to kneel and squat occasionally
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
- Able to climb occasionally
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED, preferred
- Experience performing field and/or laboratory construction materials testing is preferred, but not required
- ACI/ICC/WisDOT certifications are preferred
