Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of electrical, mechanical and environmental tests on circuit breakers and switchboards efficiently, effectively, and in an independent manner in accordance with written test procedures and appropriate specification requirements.
  • Develop, build or make custom test set-ups to safely perform and validate all test requirements when needed, as required by the test procedure or specification requirements.
  • Neatly gather and document all pertinent data in an objective manner while performing tests and provide analysis of the data with minimal oversight and assistance.
  • Develop and/or update test procedures.
  • Compile test data and prepare test reports for presenting the data.
  • Objectively summarize the results, and provide recommendations based on the data analyzed.
  • Review third-party test reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Have experience and knowledge of typical lab test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, meters, current and voltage sources, data acquisition and loggers for conducting electrical, functions, electro-mechanical tests, troubleshoot company products and test set-ups.
  • Have the capability to use hand and power tools for creating and building custom test setups for conducting the testing of company products.
  • Have the capability to lift and/move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Have the capability to do other manual tasks as needed for creating and building custom test setups for the preparation of performing required tests.
  • Possess the ability to read, interpret, and follow electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly drawings.
  • Capable of troubleshooting non-functional equipment to determine the root-cause of the failure and recommend repair requirements.
  • Available to travel to off-site test facilities to assist and oversee a multitude of electrical, functional and environmental tests performed on company products, and verify compliance with test procedures.
  • Assist engineers and peers with testing, analysis of the test data, and the development of test procedures and test setups.
  • Maintain all company equipment and tools in good working condition and calibration certification.
  • Effectively communicate test results and information.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare test procedures and reports.

Requirements

  • Requires developing job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary (associate’s degree, trade school, military training) with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • US Citizenship required (no dual citizenship).
  • Working knowledge of 3-Phase Electricity, Basic Electronics, Testing and Troubleshooting.
  • Experience and background with using various electronic testing equipment including, but not limited to Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, AC/DC Power Supplies, Current sources Meggers, Dielectric Voltage Withstand, and data acquisition instruments.

Qualifications

  • Requires developing job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary (associate’s degree, trade school, military training) with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • US Citizenship required (no dual citizenship).
  • Working knowledge of 3-Phase Electricity, Basic Electronics, Testing and Troubleshooting.
  • Experience and background with using various electronic testing equipment including, but not limited to Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, AC/DC Power Supplies, Current sources Meggers, Dielectric Voltage Withstand, and data acquisition instruments.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude, capable of working with common hand tools, and able to lift to 50 pounds unassisted safely.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $52,500 - $97,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.

Schedule

9/80 Regular (9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off)
