Engineering Technician

Avery, Recruiter with The Fountain Group, is seeking an Engineering Technician for a 3-month assignment in Tarzana, CA. Possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and budget.

Pay

$40–$42/hour based on experience.

Schedule

Onsite; multiple shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of HVAC and environmental control systems for GMP facilities.
• Lead complex maintenance and troubleshooting activities for cleanrooms, laboratories, and production areas.
• Manage critical utilities that impact product quality.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with regulatory standards such as FDA and EU GMP.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for HVAC, Building Management Systems (BMS)/SCADA, cleanroom pressurization, temperature/humidity control, HEPA filtration, and environmental monitoring.
• Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, EHS, and Operations.
• Maintain HVAC systems to control temperature, humidity, differential pressure, and air quality, ensuring personnel safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience within HVAC maintenance.
• Experience within manufacturing, pharma, biotech, or cleanroom environments (required).
• Experience working with AHUs, chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, HVAC zoning systems, exhaust and make-up air, humidity control, and HEPA filtration.
• Experience with CMMS and alarms.
• Experience with sensor calibration, IQ/OQ/PQ, and validation documentation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, analysis, thermography, and use of instrumentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
