Job Summary

Responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits and logic systems. Will apply principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics, as applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Engineers or management and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
  • Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
  • Sets up standard test apparatus or devises to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
  • Analyzes and interprets test data.
  • Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
  • Maintains system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
  • Provides user applications or engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Provides customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use.

Qualifications

  • Vocational or Technical Certificate or some college level courses in related field, minimum of 10 years of experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in a directly related field.

Other Essential Duties

  • Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

Position Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
