Engineering Technician

About the role
Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. Works closely with development engineers to create design prototypes and models. Troubleshoots prototype and model failures.
Responsibilities
- Perform a multitude of activities that match engineering responsibilities, including approving Engineering Change Orders, system re-configurations, Lean 5S evaluations, and line set-up changes.
- Ensure team members are properly trained and have the necessary tools to perform their functions.
- Provide training on complex electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on complete integrated systems.
- Work closely with highly skilled assembly and test technicians on complete system builds by following methods and sequences of operations in wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing.
- Collaborate with the L3 Supervisor and Test and Manufacturing Engineering teams to make setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
- Oversee the entire assembly and test processes, including real-time failure analysis to evaluate electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems, components, and sub-components.
- Determine the cause of failure and appropriate corrective actions, escalating as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of related experience.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering preferred.
