Engineering Technician

Location: Middletown, RI | Clearance: Must be able to obtain Secret (Interim Secret required)

About the Role

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician to support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics, and logic systems.

Responsibilities

• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
• Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
• Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches, flow charts, diagrams, schematics, etc.).
• Performs production cable building and wiring of electronics.
• Reads and troubleshoots from schematics and drawings.

Supervision: Limited supervision required. No instructions needed on routine work; general instructions provided for new lines of work or special assignments.

Requirements

• AA Degree in a related discipline and two (2) years of related experience (or equivalent years of experience accepted in lieu of degree).
• Ability to obtain up to SECRET-level clearance.
• Production cable building experience.
• Experience wiring electronics.
• Background in reading schematics/drawings and troubleshooting from schematics/drawings.

Desired Experience

• MK695 torpedo test system experience or familiarity.
