Who We Are Looking For
Pheonix Tailings seeks an experienced Engineering Technician to support the design, assembly, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment in Burlington, MA. This role involves overseeing and assisting in the assembly and installation of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, leading troubleshooting, optimizing systems, and mentoring junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and assist in the assembly and installation of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems on new equipment.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure that all equipment meets design specifications and performance standards.
- Lead efforts in assembling machinery and equipment components based on technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Conduct rigorous testing of newly assembled machines, troubleshooting any mechanical or electrical issues to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Modify and optimize equipment to meet operational requirements and improve performance.
- Lead and mentor junior technicians in troubleshooting, offering guidance to enhance their skills and ensure proper system operation.
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on existing equipment, proactively addressing issues to ensure operational continuity and minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to improve equipment longevity and performance.
- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that all technical aspects of machine builds and systems are thoroughly executed.
- Mentor and support junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and providing hands-on training to foster growth and development within the team.
- Lead efforts to develop best practices, improve workflows, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of equipment assembly, modifications, test results, and maintenance activities.
- Contribute to the creation and update of technical documentation, including operation manuals, maintenance guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and industry standards throughout the assembly, installation, and testing phases.
- Maintain quality control measures, ensuring that all equipment and systems meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or technical certificate in electro-mechanics, industrial technology, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in engineering support, machine assembly, or equipment installation, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- A strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, including electrical wiring, mechanical systems, and pneumatic components.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- A strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- The ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead by example, especially in high-pressure or fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineering, production teams, and junior technicians effectively.
Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package that is based on expertise. This pay range reflects best estimate for the total cash compensation which includes salary + discretionary bonus for this role. Total package may vary based on experience and qualifications. Pay Range: $60,000- $80,000 total cash compensation plus equity.
