Engineering Technician

About the role

As an Engineering Technician (Controls Technician), you will be responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of machine control systems, robots, and vision inspection systems in our automated manufacturing environment. You will work in a collaborative team environment supporting each other and striving to achieve cost and quality objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety practices are executed, including use of protective equipment as required.
• Work closely with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering Departments.
• Support production and improve processes for any controls, machine vision, and robotic systems.
• Maintain machine vision systems and make quality adjustments when necessary.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and program Allen Bradley PLCs and peripheral equipment.
• Perform system integration development, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Perform preventative maintenance, aligning, and calibrating robots.
• Maintain robot end of arm tooling mechanically.
• Create, improve, and maintain documentation for these systems.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar position.
• PLC, robotics, and machine vision systems knowledge.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical skills and ability.
• Know or be willing to learn basic electricity/electronics.
• Computer skills in Word and Excel.
• Good communication skills.
• Drafting skills and ability to read blueprints.
• Eagerness to learn.
