Engineering Technician
Position Summary
The Engineering Technician will perform unscheduled work, sustainment work (preventive maintenance), corrective maintenance and enhancement work which includes preparation of memos, plans, specifications, drawings, planning/programming/execution documents, papers, letters, presentations, briefings, and other correspondence, in addition to leading and/or participating in the required meetings/visits, and planning/programming/execution conferences/meetings as required to support project development. This position is considered contingent upon award.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized expertise and recommendations in relation to Facilities, Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) projects.
- Plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, record and manage the processes and documentation, and negotiate effectively.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle, navigating on both paved and gravel roads.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in either HVAC or Electrical building code requirements.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
Skills & Certification Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes, and regulations.
- The ability to diagram designs both manually and with computer-aided drafting.
- Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Cost Estimating Software.
- Good team working and communication skills.
- An excellent working knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering principles.
- Strong analytical, critical, and problem-solving skills.
- SharePoint Documentation Proficient in troubleshooting techniques.
- Presentation and briefing capabilities.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess administrative and project management skills.
