About the role

Crown Technical Systems, a Flex Company, is a leader in power distribution and protection systems specializing in sophisticated relay and control panels, medium voltage switchgear, and enclosures (power/control buildings/E-Houses). We provide customized, turn-key solutions that ensure safe, secure, and reliable power distribution. This role supports engineering services activities such as hardware and software design and development within manufacturing operations alongside industrial and process engineers.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex engineering tests, checkouts, and development engineering tasks
  • Analyzes engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problems
  • Collects data, analyzes results, and implements procedures
  • Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, and nature of technical problems, proposing solutions such as part redesign or material substitution
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for industrial equipment, machinery, power equipment, and measuring instruments
  • Sets up and conducts tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design or obtain data for development, standardization, quality control, and problem resolution
  • Analyzes test results in relation to design or rated specifications and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications
  • Records test procedures, results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method
  • Maintains software, documentation, and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications
  • Assists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required to test customer products per their specifications
  • Trains technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a related field preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in technical work, trade work, or engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions
  • Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor and at job sites
