What You’ll Be Doing

You will support the validation and verification of CPI’s innovative payment solutions by conducting product testing, maintaining laboratory equipment, and partnering with engineering and project teams to ensure products meet performance, quality, and reliability expectations.

This role is a critical part of our Test Lab organization, which serves as the final verification point for both new and existing products. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with Design Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and Test Operators to sustain existing products while helping bring new technologies to market.

The Engineering Technician will have a direct impact on our Engineering and Product Development organization, responsible for:

  • Executing product verification and validation testing to ensure CPI products perform as designed and meet quality standards.
  • Communicating test status, findings, and recommendations to Design Engineers and project stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Coinciding and managing testing activities performed by Test Operators to support project schedules and priorities.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, troubleshooting test systems, ordering materials, and supporting product modifications required for testing initiatives.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You will bring hands-on experience with laboratory testing equipment and product validation activities, with demonstrated success in interpreting technical documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical assembly drawings.

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, product testing, or engineering support environment.
  • Experience using laboratory and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze test results and identify root causes.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating and directing the activities of Test Operators.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions, departments, and cultures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Experience with 3D printing technologies preferred.
  • Experience using 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks preferred.
  • Experience operating machining equipment preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting products to the electrical component level preferred.
  • Able to travel up to 5%.
